Been a while since an update, well not much has happened, but the Winter tidy has just been completed and Welsh Pony went out on a Photo Charter this evening to check the track between Tremar Coombe and South Trethevy is okay. It is hoped to have a few gatherings this Winter so keep your eyes peeled for some STT based railway fun! Something magic this way comes! 08/20/2010
Having seen the simplicity of the KVSRs new loco 'Catchem' the STT&Co have decided to experiment with Radio Controll for the battery electric locos, namely 099 13602-01 Hermann Faller, who's internal electrics were less than satisfactory. The RC ssystem has been fitted and the wheels seem to be able to turn, but a line test will be required once the weather clears up... Fairwell number 7 08/09/2010
Yesterday, the South Trethevy Tramway bid fairwell to number 7, Myghtern, was sold to the SVSR. We hope she has a long and suceessful career on the line, and best of luck to the SVSR. Following 10 days hard work, the track of the STT&Co is now back in usable order, and following maintenance to the loco fleet, trains should begin to operate again on the 1st of August. There are still a few minor jobs to complete, but these won't impair the running of Passenger or Permanent Way trains. New Era Gala - Postponed - until when? 07/11/2010
The company has taken the decision to postpone the New Era Gala due this Saturday due the poor state of the railways infrastructure. Following a 2 week break to Wales the management returned to a railway that looked like it had been abandoned for 20 years rather than 2 weeks... A new date will be released soon, sorry for any inconvenience, for further information please contact the managment at: south.trethevy1@googlemail.com A visitor from Sodor 06/22/2010
On June 20th (Fathersday) 2010 a special service was put on to celebrate. GollyGosh was in service in the guise of Skarloey from the 'Mid-Sodor Railway', hauling the single break van on 2 departures from Mill Lane. Later that evening Number 2 was steamed on a staff special, and is almost ready for passenger trains on the STT&Co. |
